What is Chronic Heart Disease?

Chronic Heart Disease is referring to a long-term/long-lasting heart disease which cannot be cured, but it can be controlled. It may cause death if it is not monitored closely. 

What happens to the heart when Chronic Heart Disease occurs?

  • Arteriosclerosis: also called hardening of the arteries, arteriosclerosis means the arteries become thickened and are no longer as flexible.
  • Atherosclerosis: a buildup of cholesterol and fat that makes the arteries narrower so less blood can flow through. Those buildups are called plaque.
  • Angina: people with angina feel a pain in the chest that means the heart isn't getting enough blood.
  • Heart attack: when a blood clot or other blockage cuts blood flow to a part of the heart.
  • Stroke: when part of the brain doesn't get enough blood due to a clot or a burst blood vessel.

Symptoms of Chronic Heart Disease:

1) Heart Attack,
2) Heart failure,
3) Chest pain,
4) Heartburn,
5) Fatigue, etc.

Prevention & Treatment

1) Eat healthy food
2) Be active, more exercise
3) Do not smoke
4) Do not drink too much Alcohol
5) Take medicines

Diets and Exercise is very important for this disease, Chronic Heart Disease. Eating healthy diet such as eating fruits and vegetables, can reduce the risks of having heart attack, or other heart disease. Exercising is also one of the way to reduce heart diseases! Exercising can strengthen your heart and reduce blood pressure and may help you to sleep better. In addition, exercising can improve your healthy lifestyle and mood by exercising.
